A US-trained orthodontist is opening a clinic in Pyeongtaek in Feb 2018.

Seoul USC Orthodontics ( www.seoulUSC.com )  is opening in Feb 2018. Dr.Kim is a US-trained orthodontist. 
Dr. Kim is a warm and caring person and speaks fluent English. Here is his story.  

Dr. Kim 's elementary school was near the Busan seaport and he used to watch the big ships appearing on the horizon. His curiosity about the world over the ocean started to grow since then. 
While staying in Philadelphia as an exchange student for UPenn, Dr.Kim was amazed by nice people and good education and dreamed about studying in the US. 
After finishing dental school in Seoul National University in 2002, Dr. Kim finished 3 years of alternative military service as a dentist including army boot camp. 
Dr.Kim received Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in the University of Southern California and passed the US dental license exam in 2007. He also completed post-doctoral master's degree in Implantology at Hallym University in 2010. It is very rare that a dentist specialize in two different dental specialties. Thanks to those background, Dr. Kim can recommend the best treatment options for each patients. 

While working as a general dentist in Sydeny, Australia, he decided to specialize in orthodontics. He obtained his post-doctoral master’s degree and completed his certification in orthodontics at the Saint Louis University. He then opend his practice in Pyongtaek in 2018.
Dr. Kim is a certified orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics,  and currently serves as an adjunct professor at the Hallym University.  In addition to his commitment to his private practice, Dr. Kim has been very active in research and academic writing. He has co-authored the orthodontic text, “Temporary Skeletal Anchorage Devices.” He also published various articles in prestigious journals including American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.    

He and his wife, Grace, have two children – Ara and Aiden. Ara is at the Kindergarten and Aiden is 2 years old.
